AH64/AH6i Armament Weapons Repairman
Overview Serves as an AH64/AH6i Armament Weapons Repairman, specializing in Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Technician duties for AH64E and AH-6i helicopters. Manages maintenance tasks for armament, fire control, weapons systems, and electrical/avionics components, following Operators Manual, Maintenance Manuals, and customer directives. Diagnoses and rectifies malfunctions in aircraft systems and components, including solid-state and transistorized devices, in accordance with relevant technical manuals, directives, and safety procedures. Performs authorized modifications and alignment on AH-64E and AH-6i weapons components, fire control systems, and electronic/mechanical devices. Utilizes common and precision measuring tools, handles aircraft ammunitions, conducts weapon system loading/unloading, arming and de-arming, and configures weapon subsystems for all AH-64E and AH-6i weapons and fire control systems. Conducts operational checks, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs aircraft systems test sets and diagnostic equipment. Assists customers in requisitioning and maintaining Shop and Bench stock items, performs operator maintenance on tools, AGSE, and PGSE, and prepares automated aircraft maintenance forms and records. Conducts MNG OJT and ensures all related operations are executed safely. Responsibilities Ensure all Attack/Scout Battalion, Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) maintenance functional activities and procedures are planned, coordinated, integrated, and synchronized to achieve established platform operational readiness (OR) rates IAW contractual requirements. Responsible for compliance with established maintenance systems, processes, procedures, and reports that provide immediate situational awareness of platform OR rates. Assist the Production Control (PC) Manager to establish daily maintenance operational goals, objectives, and priorities for implementation, in-order to achieve stated OR rates. Oversees the daily Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) maintenance management of individually assigned aircraft in support of the PC Manager, in conjunction with Aviation Logistics for related platform parts and spares. Works within the maintenance quality control processes, procedures, and standards. Directs inquires, investigations, and research analysis related to aviation maintenance of the aircraft and supporting maintenance activities to the PC Manager. Coordinates with management for daily and weekly maintenance training activities. Supports the Downed Aircraft Recovery Team (DART) processes and procedures in coordination with the PC Manager. Other tasks as directed by the PC Manager. Qualifications Education Level Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. AH-6i experience. Experience with GAU-19 12.7mm mini-gun. Experience Requirements: Five (5) years’ experience as an aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Technician. Three (3) years’ experience an AH-64 series aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) Technician. Graduate of a US Military Aircraft Electrical/Avionics/Armament/Fire Control/Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) technician course or civilian equivalent training and experience. Demonstrated past performance and experience in maintenance on AH64 series aircraft. Responsible for the management, training, evaluation, and advancement process for assigned support staff. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation. Proficient in MS Office software. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid US issued driver’s license and passport. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire.
