Role Introduction

Reports to: The Chief Operating Officer

The Financial Controller is an integral member of the Company executive team and primarily responsible for all of the Company’s finance activities, including business planning, budgeting and forecast. You are expected to work closely with other department heads to explore business opportunities and to assist the Chief Operating Officer to drive a culture of accountability in managing the business.

The Financial Controller is a leading and independent role in maintaining the integrity of financial information with the aim to provide directors and shareholders with timely and accurate management information for performance evaluation.

The successful candidate will be seconded to Air Hong Kong, a subsidiary of Cathay
Group.

 

Key Responsibilities
Provides strategic support and recommendation to the Chief Operating Officer in enhancing financial performance and long-term business planDevelops performance measures that support the Company’s strategic direction and oversees Company’s statutory and tax reporting and maintains an effective compliance frameworkReviews financial reports and present financial results to the Board of Directors; and develops appropriate decision protocol to ensure business decisions are
grounded in sound financial criteriaIn charge of the Company’s entire finance functions and its financial management with the aims to safeguard its assets and ensure financial health and stabilityEnsures timely and accurate analysis of budgets and forecasts and ensures all financial processes and policies are established and adhered toEstablishes internal control system and ensures good governance and oversees the Company’s payment transactions and treasury activitiesExercises costs control and encourages business units on cost saving initiativesWorks closely with IT to provide stable and secure IT platform for business operationsAssists the Chief Operating Officer in managing the Company’s procurement
processPerforms ad hoc projects as and when requiredRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Business or relevant discipline with professional qualificationsQualified accountant (CPA or equivalent) and at least 2 years audit experience with a medium to large audit firmMinimum 10 years’ relevant accounting experience with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in managerial roleKnowledge of aviation and cargo industry is a key advantageExperience with business case analysis and negotiation is preferredDemonstrated financial leadership experience in a related environment, managing people, processes, and budgets to achieve corporate objectivesProven track record of building strong and sustainable relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholdersStrong leadership qualities with the commitment to inspire a can-do spirit and drive a high performing cultureProven planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and changing priorities. Excellent presentation and problem-solving skillsGood command of spoken and written English and ChinesePersonal & Application Information
