DIRECTOR PHARMACY SERVICES | REMOTE
The Director, Pharmacy Services will manage all vendor relationships and contractual arrangements related to pharmaceutical wholesaler distribution, technology, pharmacy services, and non-drug pharmacy products for Advantus Health Partner’s (AHP) pharmacy group purchasing organization (GPO) offering. They will be directly responsible for qualitative and economical assessment to determine preferred 503b vendors to incorporate into the AHP's contractual portfolio. The role will be required to develop and lead team functions in business services, communications, technology, and analytics with final offerings to both internal clients and external members. Through comprehensive qualitative and cost analysis, the role will provide guidance towards standardized products, aligning with established pharmacy governance decisions.
Essential Job Functions
Develops overarching strategies that provide direct value to AHP and its members through pharmaceutical distribution contracts.
Leads and manages all business services and contractual arrangements related to pharmaceutical wholesaler distribution, including primary, secondary, and direct arrangements.
Leads the sourcing process for pharmacy technology, pharmacy services, and non-drug pharmacy product category from spend assessment through supplier selection for AHP.
Negotiates complex agreements with ownership of all business, pricing, and commercial terms.
Manages ongoing pricing via market intelligence and analytic sourcing strategies.
Oversees total cost optimization via advanced sourcing and quality assurance techniques. Focuses on standardization and simplification to achieve operational and cost efficiencies without compromising standards of care.
Leads and executes a supplier performance management program for pharmacy services, ensuring a strong and resilient product pipeline.
Acts as a thought leader and active contributor to the business by maintaining a strong knowledge of the category, supplier capabilities, market trends, and technological advances.
Leads a team of program managers and analysts to support both contract administrative duties for defined areas and AHP program services

REQUIRED:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharm D
RPh Licensure
Healthcare experience
PREFERRED
5 years' experience in a complex supply chain sourcing and procurement leadership role
Relevant clinical experience
