Job Summary
The Powerhouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the generation, control, and distribution of electrical power for a specified area, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role involves the management of power generation systems, substations, and power lines, both overhead and underground. The manager ensures compliance with safety programs, regulatory standards, and company policies. Additionally, the Powerhouse Manager oversees budget management, supervises staff, and addresses both routine and emergency operations. This position requires a strong background in engineering, power systems, and remote site applications.

Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee power generation systems producing at least 10 MW, including substations and distribution systems.
Ensure compliance with all safety programs, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
Facilitate electricity distribution across the specified area, addressing routine and emergency situations effectively.
Oversee maintenance schedules, inspections, and troubleshooting of power systems to minimize downtime.
Supervise and lead staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
Manage the budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and proper allocation of resources.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to applicable standards and codes.
Develop strategies for continuous improvement in power generation and distribution efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and support for complex power-related projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience with power generating systems, controls, and distribution of at least 10 MW.
Experience working in remote site applications.
At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a smaller utility or a subset of a large facility.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory compliance in the power generation industry.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in power systems or related technical areas.
Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
Experience managing power systems in extreme or unique environmental conditions.
