Within the Global Central Function Transformation (Big Data & AI Engineering Team), we are looking for an
AI ENGINEER
Main responsibilities/skills
1. Designing edge-oriented and hybrid software systems incorporating deep learning models by cooperating with other engineers. Is skilled in orchestrating containerized services and in leveraging high-level communication protocols or APIs (e.g., MQTT, ZMQ, gRPC, HTTP, ODBC) to interface with other components. Can integrate and configure basic sensor hardware with software systems via existing high level SDKs. Preferably has a basic understanding of data acquisition and preprocessing from sensors, including cameras.
2. Will automate model training, deployment, and monitoring by building related pipelines (e.g. by using Databricks or similar frameworks or platforms) and using CI/CD tools or templates (azure pipelines or github actions) provided by other teams. Understands data versioning and lineage. Has enough understanding on the matter to eventually propose tools and specific guidelines to improve experiment tracking methodologies in the team.
3. Has a good degree of proficiency in deep learning applied to the computer vision field. Is proficient in designing and executing experiments to test hypotheses. Has proven experience in independently troubleshooting, pinpointing and solving issues affecting performances of both prototype (PoC) models and deployed models.
4. Is proficient with version control systems (git). Understands basic coding standards and the importance of writing clean, maintainable code. Can write unit and integration tests for owned code. Has proven experience in independently troubleshooting and fixing bugs in owned code and software systems in production by executing postmortems. Can identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations for owned code.
5. Is proficient in developing, testing, and deploying applications using containers. Can optimize Dockerfiles for production and is familiar with simple container orchestration technologies (i.e. docker-compose level or above).
6. Is proficient in basic image processing techniques (e.g. thresholding), including tasks such as image labeling, data cleaning, augmentation, and format conversion. Has familiarity with tools and frameworks for image annotations (e.g., LabelImg, CVAT, or similar). Can design and oversee small data acquisition and annotation projects.
