Job Description

The AI Literacy Specialist serves as a primary resource for helping Children’s employees expand their knowledge and skills to use AI effectively and responsibly. Promotes the understanding and effective use of AI technology within the organization. Engages with various departments to provide training and support on AI tools and to assist them in identifying opportunities to leverage AI for improved outcomes. Helps evaluate if AI technologies are improving productivity and/or reducing burnout for Children’s employees.

Experience

At least 1 year of experience in teaching or training professionals in technical subjects.At least 1 year of experience working with cross-functional teams to disseminate technology solutions.Experience working with complex software applications and proficiency in a variety of programs.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in technical area (e.g. Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, etc.), healthcare-related field (e.g. nursing), business, or education, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a clinical or healthcare environment is highly desirable.Familiarity with AI applications in healthcare or related fields is advantageous.Practical knowledge of AI technologies, platforms, and tools relevant to healthcare.Quality or process improvement experience, specifically in the evaluation of how a new tool or intervention has affected outcomes of interest.Experience collecting, merging, and analyzing quantitative data for technology evaluation.Experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data for technology evaluation.

Understanding of AI concepts and their applications in healthcare.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner.Executive-level presence and comfortable providing training and support to clinicians and organizational leaders.Proficiency in using and explaining software tools and platforms associated with AI and data analytics.Skill in providing at-the-elbow support and adaptable in delivering training tailored to various learning styles and job functions.Ability to develop effective training materials and conduct engaging training sessions.Ability to empathize with individuals in diverse roles and an eagerness to spend time understanding their unique job experiences.Ability to learn from qualitative experiences and create quantitative measures of success.Ability to contribute independently at a high level to AI literacy across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Works with extremely diverse stakeholders across the organization ranging from business to clinical users to deeply understand their jobs and tasks and identify opportunities for AI to accelerate their work.Provides at-the-elbow support to extremely diverse stakeholders to help them learn to leverage AI to accelerate and improve their work output.Collaborates to collect qualitative and quantitative data to determine the effectiveness of AI to improve productivity and reduce burnout.Works closely with the AI Governance and Literacy Manager to ensure alignment with governance frameworks and ethical standards in training content.Implements AI literacy initiatives to support responsible AI usage.Follows technical guidelines and best practices for project management, source control, documentation, and responsible AI.Effectively collaborates with team members and stakeholders across the health system.Collaborates with technology teams to stay updated on new AI tools and developments.Communicates technical topics effectively to various levels and teams.Contributes to organizational knowledge by participating in internal knowledge shares/seminars, research conferences, online learning.Creates educational materials, including guides, tutorials, and online resources.Tracks and reports on the progress of AI literacy among staff, identifying areas for improvement and additional training needs.Participates in the assessment of AI tools and solutions for potential adoption within the hospital system.Participates in the evaluation of AI program effectiveness.Encourages a culture of continuous learning and innovation regarding AI and its role in healthcare.
