LimnoTech is seeking a summer intern based in our Ann Arbor office to support the evaluation and integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Machine Learning (ML) techniques into existing workflows and model/data evaluations, as well as to provide programming support for custom web-based and desktop software applications. For this position, LimnoTech is seeking candidates with a computer science academic background and exposure to AI tools and ML techniques. Position Responsibilities Our interns typically work on a variety of projects. Responsibilities for this internship position are expected to include: + Automate, test, and develop recommendations for ML techniques to address data analysis and gap-filling needs and to support process-based modeling efforts. + Support evaluation of AI-based tool(s) and their application to benefit LimnoTech projects and clients. + Support development and testing of LimnoTech’s internal large language model. + Support additional programming needs for .NET-based web applications and desktop-based software. This position is expected to start in mid-May of 2025 and last through mid/late August. Activities will be in-person, Monday through Friday (anticipated 40 hours/week), in our Ann Arbor, MI office. Qualifications + Undergraduate students with at least 6 semesters of coursework (senior +), graduate students (Master’s and Ph.D.), and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. + Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, in addition to strong analytical and computational abilities. + Computer science background and programming capability are required. Coursework or other background in AI/ML are desirable. + Skills related to the application of desktop-based spreadsheet and/or relational database software for managing and analyzing data are desirable. + Must be legally able to work in the U.S. (proper documentation required). Compensation This is a paid hourly position, anticipated as 40 hours per week. Compensation is commensurate with the candidate’s experience, but will be in the $20-25 per hour range.
