AI/ML Intern - Advanced Technology
Job Description SummaryGE Vernova Grid Software is looking for an AI/ML Engineer Intern to work with the Advanced Technology Organization. The AI/ML Engineer Intern will be responsible for developing models and code to support next generation AI/ML use cases to advance the software that is used by control room operators to control the grid. The AI/ML Engineer Intern will work closely with power systems engineer, software engineers, AI/ML engineers to develop, test, and deliver new features for proof of concepts (POCs).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

•  Collaborate with application engineers to develop AI/ML applications

•  Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.

•  Build AI/ML models using modern frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LLMs.

•  Utilize data from many different sources to develop data for model training and input.

•  Use common methods for feature engineering, evaluating model performance, conducting hyperparameter tuning.

Required Qualifications

•  Currently Enrolled in a Master’s or PhD degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical field.

•  Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), including large language models (LLM), deep neural networks, graph neural networks, time series forecasting.

• Experience developing ML models (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)

• Experience in Python programming language

• Advanced statistics, linear algebra 

• Minimum cumulative or in-major 3.0/4.0 GPA

• Must commit to working full time (40 hrs/wk) during the internship in summer

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be willing to work in an office located in Bothell.

• Unrestricted legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Desired Characteristics (Nice to have skills):

• LLMs (Prompt engineering, RAG)

• Data preprocessing for AI/ML

• AI/ML App development in cloud with either AWS or Azure

• Knowledge of power systems, grid operations or similar dynamic system modeling.
