AI/ML Research Scientist - Small Molecule Discovery

As a research scientist in Small Molecule Discovery, you will develop AI/ML models for property prediction and generate novel small molecules. Your work will accelerate the drug discovery process by designing models tailored to meet scientists' needs. This role requires effective cross-functional communication and interaction with scientists. Ideal candidates are AI/ML experts with a strong background in mathematics and a solid understanding of statistical concepts.

What You Should Bring:

Deep mathematical/statistical expertise: linear algebra, probability theory, statistical inference, optimization, etc.Capability to conduct research by identifying problems, reviewing relevant literature, generating and testing ideas through implementation, while consistently being proactive and diligent.Expert coding skills and the ability to quickly implement and test ideas, as well as understand and work with existing solutions/algorithms.Familiarity with AI/ML models and concepts relevant to discovery: deep generative learnings (VAE, GAN, Diffusion), language models (transformers), deep learning, graph representation learning, etc.Experience working with high performance computing and/or GPU clustersSuperb communication and presentation skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Basic Qualifications:

PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or related fieldsRelevant publications from top tier conferences/journalsStrong programming and mathematical skillExperience with python and ML relevant libraries especially pytorch

Additional Information:

Position located in Indianapolis, Indiana, working in a hybrid modelUp to 10% travel may be required depending on the projectPrevious expertise in small molecule drug discovery, computational chemistry and chemoinformatic are desirable, but not required
