Come join the DMVA team, apply today! DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Aide Trainee, you will complete off-site training to become a Nurse Aide. You will attend formal classroom training sessions and receive on-the-job training assignments to develop the knowledge and skills to provide non-professional nursing care. In this position, you will receive clinical site training in hands-on, non-professional care methods and procedures. You will also make rounds with the nursing staff at the beginning and end of each shift. You can expect to answer call bells and assist with basic tasks, transport and distribute meal trays, and change and distribute linens. Additionally, you will assist residents during scheduled activities and programs as directed. This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. Upon completion of an 8-hour training course and successfully passing the competency exam, the 16-hour classroom course, and an 80-hour orientation program, you would promote into a Nurse Aide position. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week + Work hours are as follows with rotating on and off duty days including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch break. + 2nd shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM + 3rd shift: 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM + Orientation will be 1st shift, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. + You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Preferred Qualifications (not required): + Willingness and ability to work in Scranton, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania + Willingness to work a full-time permanent position for the 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM shift with rotating days and weekends (after certification is obtained on an 8 :00 AM to 4:30 PM shift classroom orientation) + Completion of an 8-hour online training course prior to hire and providing a certificate of completion + Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals + Be at least 18 years of age + Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent Legal Requirements: + A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. + This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. + Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
