Purpose of Role: The Arc Air Operator is responsible for arcing fins, contact notches and other irregularities off castings.

Key Responsibilities:

Finishing Castings: Remove burns, fins, contact notches, and other irregularities from castings using appropriate tools and techniques.Includes two types of castings; ambient temperature castings and castings that are at 350 Fahrenheit degrees.Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols to mitigate exposure to dust, fumes, and radiation while operating in a high-noise environment.Physical Manipulation: Safely manipulate and position castings weighing between 15 to 1200 lbs, utilizing an arc rod holder and other equipment as needed.Equipment Operation: Operate and control arc air machines, including pushing buttons and adjusting settings to ensure effective casting treatment.Mobility and Stamina: Maintain physical agility by walking, bending, and reaching as necessary throughout the work area to complete tasks efficientlySafety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture

Job Knowledge/Education and Quality

Minimum 1 year experience in arc gouging or welding is required.High school diploma or GED required.Experience operating forklifts and hoists is an advantage.Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills are essential. Ability to understand and follow technical instructions and safety protocols.Forklift certification is a plus.

Environmental and Physical Conditions:

Concrete floors, dust, fumes, ultra-violet light, vibration from arc gun, and heat from castings.Physical Demands Required to manipulate castingsUsing hoist 15 - 1200 lbs. and arc rod holder.Must be able to stand for long periods, frequent walking, occasional bending and reaching.Must be able to work in various lighting conditions on fine detail jobs.
