OverviewThe Air Traffic Manager assists in overseeing and coordinating daily operations as they relate to ATC Traffic Flow Management constraints. This role involves tactical interaction with the Delta OCC Strategic Planning Team as well as the FAA System Command Center (ATCSCC). The ATM coordinates actions to minimize ATC delays, represents Endeavor Airlines at industry ATM events, and advocates for long-term ATM strategies to enhance safety, efficiency, and network reliability.
Responsibilities Collaborate with internal customers including the OCC team, Flight Ops, as well as the Delta OCC SPT to resolve issues involving ATC facilities and services.Monitor ATC Ops Planning Webinars/Telcons and relay information pertinent to EDV operations to the Bridge and, as appropriate, dispatchers for action.Monitor EDV route structure for accuracy and coordinate with associated ATC facilities for amendments to Preferred routes, including alternate route options (Recommended Routes) to expedite departures.Participate in ATCSCC PERTI (Plan, Execute, Review, Train, Improve) Review.Manage SABRE route database.Engage directly with the FAA Air Traffic Organization, System Operations leadership, in developing long-term relationships focused on EDV operational goals.Utilize expertise in ATC and airline/airport operations to support Endeavor’s network reliability and efficiency goals including airspace and route efficiency, capacity enhancements, diversion handling, and IROPS recovery processes.Work closely with Operations Analysis and Network Planning organizations to ensure that proposed schedule changes consider ATM and airport surface traffic flow impacts.Review ATC system efficiency daily to understand capacity issues that impact Endeavor’s operational goals (D0/A14/A0/B0/CCF).Fully participate in FAA Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) activities and sub-teams.Contribute to FAA airspace redesign efforts in coordination with the Delta OCC ATM team at key operational locations.Participate in industry forums that influence ATC modernization plans of the FAA.Be an advocate for ATM modernization including processes, procedures, and tools needed to improve airfield and airspace efficiency as they impact EDV operations.Participate in NY Delta / Delta Connection Summer Preparations, representing Endeavor OCC and engaging in ACC strategy sessions.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and related experience.Minimum of 2 years in air carrier (Part 121) airline operations, OCC, and/or ATC experience.FAA Certification as Pilot, Aircraft Dispatcher, and/or ATC Specialist.Thorough understanding of FAA Traffic Flow Management concepts; graduate of FAA TFM National Course #50113 preferred.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, well-informed decisions.Strong interpersonal skills to support the OCC team in executing operational strategies with ATC.Expertise in information management using OCC flight control, Delta ATM, and FAA SWIM (System-wide Information Management). Work Environment & Physical Demands Repetitive motion such as typing.Computer work, in a typical office environment, sitting for the majority of the day.Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.Ability to work extra hours as required.Travel up to 25% may be necessary.
