Technical Operations Department overview

Technical Operations is the maintenance, repair and overhaul division of United. The department includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams and more.

Job overview and responsibilities

An employee whose job includes all work generally recognized as Mechanic work in company designated stations. This may include power plants, Line, ETOPS, TDY (fueling), parts, ground equipment, facilities and other related work as directed by leadership.

Technicians are responsible for all work being performed on shift. Technicians may be required to test, check, and certify for service work performed.

Perform all aspects of aircraft maintenance work including servicing, repair, and proper work documentation in accordance with company procedures and specificationsReceive and dispatch arriving/departing aircraft. Perform other duties as assigned, such as towing, refueling, etcHelp handling parts, maintain tools, ground equipment, facilities and other related work or daily operation needed as directed by leadershipMay be required to exercise Aircraft Release Authority

This position is offered on local terms and conditions.  Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Qualifications

Required 

College diploma or equivalent educationCompletion of local Qualification as required for daily operationA proactive individual and team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsMust hold a motor vehicle driver's licensePrevious experience in aircraft maintenance is preferred (at least three years of experience in aircraft maintenance)Must be flexible to work ANY shift according to flight schedule that is assigned to you in a 24/7 operations including late nights, early hours, weekends, and holidaysMust be willing and able to travel internationally for training and meetings as well as be willing to work in other cities to support short term relief or field service recovery missionsMust be legally authorized to work in China for any employer without sponsorshipMust be fluent in English (read, write, and speak)Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
