GENERAL DESCRIPTION\n
Aircraft Electricians perform work involved in routine disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, testing, and installation and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems. This job is at a Depot Level repair facility performing maintenance on types of aircraft, which include, but not limited to, H-60, F\/A-18, E-2\/C-2, H-1, and F-35. Military aviation experience is a plus.\n
DUTIES\n\nCorrect minor discrepancies by removal, repair, or replacement of defective or deleted circuits, wires, connectors, control units, plugs, switches, circuit breakers, relays, and other parts of aircraft electrical systems.\nPerform limited functional checks on existing and newly installed aircraft electrical systems, equipment, wiring, and cables to check continuity, resistance, amperage, and insulation breakdown with meters, bridges, meggers, and specialized test sets.\nPerform final functional and operational tests of complex electrical systems, components, and accessories, with intricate wiring systems under actual or ground power such as automatic flight control, armament, landing gear, antiskid, ignition, stall warning, power distribution, engine drive alternator and fuel indicating systems.\nWork from technical publications, technical drawings, schematics, layouts, or other specifications.\nSet up and operate computer-controlled automatic test equipment (ATE) to run established and new diagnostic programs in various operational and functional test modes to perform pretest or final checkout of the electrical\/electronic and interrelated systems.\nUse a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing equipment.\nAll work is subject to review and evaluation by a higher graded worker, supervisor, or a quality control inspector during and upon completion of work assignments for conformance to standards and specifications.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n
EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMust have at least three (3) years of relevant experience as an Aircraft Electrician, with 3 years of E-2 experience preferred.\nAbility to read technical publications, schematics, engineering and manufacturer specifications.\nUse various types of equipment to include meters, bridges, meggers, harness testers, locally manufactured \"breakout boxes\
