Aircraft Mechanic II

GENERAL DESCRIPTION \n

The Aircraft Mechanic II will be a key member of an off-site modification team, responsible for implementation, installation, and testing of equipment. This role may require significant travel (up to 50%) to various locations including overseas. When not traveling, the Aircraft Mechanic II will support other aviation maintenance programs, including fixed-wing and rotary-wing platforms.\n

DUTIES\n\nPerform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft in accordance with manufacturer and service guidance.\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and repair aircraft systems including airframe, powerplant, electrical, avionics, hydraulic, and fuel systems.\nConduct pre-flight, post-flight, and routine inspections to ensure aircraft readiness for operations.\nRemove, repair, and reinstall aircraft components such as seats, panels, fairings, doors, windows, and structural elements as required.\nUse technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and DOD documentation to conduct maintenance and repairs.\nComply with engineering specifications, maintenance instructions, technical orders (TOs), and service bulletins for proper aircraft servicing.\nUtilize specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections.\nPerform modifications and upgrades as required, including assisting with electrical installations, sensor placements, and wire harness routing.\nExecute post-maintenance operational checks and system functional tests to verify serviceability.\nMaintain accurate records and documentation of maintenance actions in compliance with applicable regulations.\nCommunicate technical concerns, progress updates, and scheduling constraints to supervisors and stakeholders.\nApply a solutions-oriented approach to troubleshooting and customer service, ensuring efficient problem resolution.\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\n\n

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE\/ REQUIREMENTS\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nMust have completed a military aviation specialty course or accredited aviation vocational school with at least 6 years of related aviation maintenance experience\nAn FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is desired \nExperience with basic sheet metal tasks is preferred\nMust provide own hand tools, specialized tooling and test equipment shall be provided\nMust be a US Citizen\nMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret or higher security clearance\nMust possess effective communication skills with experience in inter-discipline team environment desired\nWe maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing.\n\n

Environmental Factors:\n\nWork in an inside\/outside environment to include working around machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.\nExcessive noise and vibration that can be intermittent or constant.\nEnvironmental conditions can included but not limited to dust, silica, asbestos, fumes, smoke, gas, solvents such as degreasing agents, grease, oils, and electrical energy\nWorking on slippery or uneven surfaces\nWorking closely with others or working alone\nPossible protracted or irregular hours of work as needed or required.\n\n
