GENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n\nThe Aircraft Mechanic II - Sheet Metal will perform structural repairs and modifications on rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. This role requires expertise in aircraft sheet metal fabrication, corrosion control, and structural maintenance. The position may require significant travel (up to 50%) to various locations.\n\n
DUTIES:\n\nPlan, design, and lay out aviation sheet metal work based on blueprints, models, and technical specifications.\nSet up and operate various sheet metal working machines.\nUtilize hand tools to cut, bend, form, shape, rivet, and assemble aircraft structures.\nPerform corrosion control procedures, including removal and treatment of affected areas.\nInterpret and work in accordance with military technical manuals and\/or OEM manuals.\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\n\n
EDUCATION \/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nCompletion of military 68G\/15G MOS or other service branch equivalent preferred, or vocational school training.\nFAA Airframe license preferred.\nMinimum of six (6) years of experience in aircraft structural systems maintenance.\nDemonstrated knowledge of military and\/or OEM technical manuals.\nU.S. citizenship required.\nMust possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.\n\n

Environmental Factors:\n\nWork in an inside\/outside environment to include working around machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.\nExcessive noise and vibration that can be intermittent or constant.\nEnvironmental conditions can included but not limited to dust, silica, asbestos, fumes, smoke, gas, solvents such as degreasing agents, grease, oils, and electrical energy.\nWorking on slippery or uneven surfaces.\nWorking closely with others or working alone.\nPossible protracted or irregular hours of work as needed or required.\n\n
