GENERAL DESCRIPTION\n
Aircraft Mechanics III must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to meet the assigned missions.\n
DUTIES \n\nLeads a team in the performance of aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled\/ unscheduled maintenance\nDemonstrate the technical experience to supervise subordinate mechanics and provide technical guidance on maintenance operations on the airframe being supported\nCapable of performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Mechanic Is, IIs and IIIs\nMaintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components, and engines of complex to extreme difficulty, \nMaintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components\nApplies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions \nApplies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation\nApplies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals\nInspect\/clear aircraft discrepancy symbols to include Red X discrepancies and inspect\/sign all equipment condition tags for all tasks that the team is assigned\nMake entries in aircraft logs and records \nResponsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and\/or maintenance efforts\nWill require the use of HLVP spray gun and various other corrosion control tooling\nOther duties as assigned\n\n
EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS \n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required\nMust have a minimum of three (3) years (hands on) experience on the C-130H\/J variant aircraft\nMust have C-130 \"hands-on\" experience within the last 3 years and capable of performing all tasks IAW written instructions\nMay be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration\nRequires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting\/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal\/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems\nMust possess the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural\/mechanical engineers and customers alike, must possess excellent organizational skills in prioritizing workload to meet aircraft delivery schedule\nA detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required\nMust currently posses or have the ability to obtain a US passport\nMust be a U.S. Citizen \n\n
