Aircraft Mechanic III (AH64) - Ali Al Salem, Kuwait
**The** **AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic III** performs the full range of military tactical aircraft maintenance and maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of complex to extreme difficulty. + Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components. + Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation. + Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals. + Make entries in aircraft logs and records, and responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts. + Plan, conduct, and supervise aircraft technical inspections. + Compute basic weight and balance records. + Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. + Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control, Army oil analysis Program and test measuring diagnostic equipment calibration. + Provide lower level technicians guidance in aircraft repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies. + Prepare evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance repair and related activities. + Perform other duties as requested. **Minimum Requirements:** + Completion of high school or equivalent required. + U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired, certification of education level is required. + Five (5) or more year’s aviation maintenance experience within the past ten (10) years on that mission design series **AH-64** (MDS). + Experience in maintenance, modification and repair of tactical aircraft systems of the type being serviced and their associated components. + Valid FAA Airframe & Power plant (A&P) License for mechanics and Sheetmetal is preferred. + Must be able to obtain and maintain facility Public Trust NAC-I. Note: **US Citizenship is required** for facility Public Trust NAC-I at this work location. + Must be in possession of a Passport with 3 years of validity remaining at the time of hire with 6 blank pages and be able to travel internationally. + Able to clear CENTCOM MOD17 Medical for deployment. + Must be able to obtain Kuwait visa. **Knowledge & Skills** + Thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts. + Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair. + Basic knowledge of electrical theory and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. + Working knowledge of technical publications and Logistics Information Systems. + Able to prioritize workloads to maintain schedules on assigned projects and is required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks. + Participate in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required. + Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by Mechanics. + The incumbent receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, will occasionally be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks, and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. ​ **Physical Requirements/Working Environment** + Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. + Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. + Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders. + May be required to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. + Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate through e-mail and various software applications. + Will handle dirty parts and lubricants. + Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). + Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. + May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, etc. + Must be able to lift/push/pull minimum of 50 pounds. + May work in maintenance shop or outside. + Must be able to work in a shop where the environment is drafty, noisy, and dirty. + May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. + May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles.
