Primary Function
The Aviation Quality Assurance Technical Inspector is responsible for ensuring all aircraft, aircraft component and shop inspections and tasks performed are compliant to Yulista Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures as well as all applicable/approved technical data. Perform visual and physical evaluations, testing and control of parts, products and raw materials to ensure conformity to established specifications, applicable standards of quality. Provide technical assistance, when needed, to determine the correct course of action to resolve maintenance problems
Essential Duties:
Utilize data collection techniques and procedures for evaluation, inspection, and audit programs, evaluates the results and determines the appropriate and effective method and format for presentation to higher-level management.
Performs statistical analysis (e.g. normal distribution, averages, means, standard deviations, trending, root cause analysis, etc.) using standard statistical quality control methods.
Utilize inspection and evaluation techniques, mathematics, and database management skills to perform root cause, deficiency and trend analysis.
Recommends Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs), frequency changes to Routine Inspection Lists (RILs), and recommendations for corrective maintenance practice action.
Utilizes a comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret Air Force Instructions, Technical Orders, engineering drawings, product specifications, Air Force Occupational and Health (AFOSH) and environmental standards, public law, and locally developed policy.
Evaluates and assesses complex systems, subsystems, integrated systems/subsystems, or components for conformance to applicable technical data, engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
Evaluates, conducts reviews, activity inspections and compliance of all maintenance activities to include the logistics maintenance support functional areas such as production, programs and mobility, maintenance training, plans, scheduling and documentation and data base management as directed by the Quality Manager
Ensure that personnel have all items necessary to accomplish their assigned task
Review project work request for completeness and accuracy
Provide accurate weekly/monthly status reporting, metrics and other contractual obligations to meet project performance requirements and customer expectations
Experience in evaluating programs with electrical, electronic, machining, structures, composites, aircraft and ground support systems in a development, manufacturing and testing environment
Ensures compliance with all safety, environmental and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines and SOPs as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations
Evaluates the activities of all special processes such as, but not limited to NDI, welding, testing soldering for internal employees and approved subcontractors
Develops changes in methods, sampling techniques and control procedures and processes to ensure maximum quality to the customer
Carries out audits and supports audits
Provides professional interface with customer and/or government personnel
Develops briefings for management, defines strategies
Evaluates training criteria to maintain the skills of the team current, relevant and effective
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. This position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.
Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge is mandatory of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical principles applying to aircrew egress systems; concepts and application of applicable maintenance directives; and using and interpreting schematic drawings, and technical publications.
Intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members.
Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Comply with safety rules and regulations while performing day to day maintenance. Promptly report all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and/or unsafe practices or procedures.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista goals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
Ability to multi-task.
Bachelor’s degree in related area preferred
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma / Equivalent
Must have a minimum of Six (6) years Aviation Inspection experience.
Must have an A & P License or a Military School Certification.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be required to operate a government general purpose vehicle
Willingness to travel
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
