Summary You will serve as an Aircraft Mechanic Leader in the MRO Production Department, Vertical Lift Program of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Responsibilities You will inspect, analyze, assess and determine the condition of aircraft flight control, hydraulic, pneudraulic, environmental and mechanical system components. You will perform overhaul, repair, align, test, and diagnose aircraft systems and components while leading a crew within a Cell Based Work Environment (CBWE) in an aircraft production line. You will work on aircraft and has the expertise to provide technical advice and work direction to artisans. You will make detailed safety, static/operational inspections of aircraft system, engine, components and structure, and inspects aircraft condition/performance acceptability for movement flight test. You will collect and provide data for engineering Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and logistics analysis, norms and budget formulation, material forecasting, and workload planning You will maintain a current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedure policies and written instructions such as job orders. You will assure that safety, tool control, foreign object damage (FOD), Hazmat, and housekeeping rules are followed. You will answer questions for the supervisor on overall work operations and related problems. You will investigate technical problems affecting production and apply corrective action coordinating and working with support groups if required. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION performing the following duties: 1) Knowledge and experience with Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI), In-Service Repair (ISR), and Modification processes and procedures; 2) In-depth knowledge of the operating principles, functions, and technical orientation of aircraft mechanical, hydraulic, pneudraulic, environmental systems, subsystems, accessories, and components; 3) Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, technical instructions, aircraft/engine logbooks, VID/MAF, and technical directives; 4) Provide technical advice and recommendation(s) to production, support organizations and customers regarding the examination and evaluation results.
