The Sheet Metal Technician I is responsible for high proficiency in all minor through major repairs, modifications, E.A.s, with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Highly proficient in fabrication, cold working, flap peening and jacking/shoring aircraft. Highly proficient in using technical data and drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs. Ensure work performed adheres to high quality standards. Effectively direct the work of less experienced mechanics. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree GED required. Must have a minimum of 5 years related aviation sheet metalexperience and/or training. May or may not have an A (airframe) or P (powerplant) license. Previous experience in warehousing, handling inventory, and bar code equipment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Constantly:Lifting 10 lbs., standing, walking, wrist flexion and extension, environmental weather conditions.Frequently:Lifting ≤40 lbs., push/pull <20 lbs., climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling for extended periods, working in confined spaces. Working above chest-level, overhead, and away from body for extended periods. Bending, twisting of torso, twisting and/or pressure with wrist/hands, fine finger usage, moderate vibrations up to 2 hrs. to high vibrations up to 30 mins. Vision with/without correction; near <20”, far >20’, and basic depth perception (shapes). Working at elevated heights ≥4’, working on ladders, scaffolding, uneven surfaces, and energized parts.Occasionally:Lifting and/or carry ≤50 lbs., sitting, basic color vision, operation of motorized or electrical equipment, push/pull <50 lbs., work in wet conditions.#LI-DT1QUALIFICATIONS
