Aircraft Parts Buffer B - 2nd Shift

We are hiring immediately for an Aircraft Parts Buffer.

What you will be doing as an Aircraft Parts Buffer:

In this role, you can expect to set up and operate a variety of motorized equipment, hand tools, and holding fixtures to buff and polish aircraft components. You'll master techniques and polishes on all metal alloys to meet high appearance standards. Additionally, you’ll enhance our collaborative and efficient work environment by assisting lower grade operators as needed.

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

Operate Buffing Equipment: Set up and operate motor-driven wire brushes, cloth wheels, and abrasive-coated wheels using various buffing compounds to achieve required finishesPolish Components: Polish steel parts to meet specifications before electroplating, ensuring close tolerancesPlan and Perform Buffing: Develop methods to hold various shapes and sizes of parts against buffing wheels to obtain desired finishesScratch Removal: Use learned techniques to buff out scratches and polish parts to acceptable finish standards

What you need to be successful:

A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is requiredOne year experience with polishing and buffing to obtain satin and/or mirror finishes is requiredAbility to work in a dusty work environment that requires long periods of standing and holding various shapes and sizes of materials
