Role Introduction

Cathay Pacific Canada is looking for a successful individual to join the Toronto Engineering team. The successful individual will  perform operational functions ensuring delivery of a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports our brand and business whilst meeting all compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Accountabilities

Working on a shift basis, perform and certify in-scope aircraft maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft in accordance with the HKAR-145 and company requirementsWorking on a shift basis, perform aircraft maintenance for third party customer aircraft (if applicable) under supervision of the Aircraft EngineerPerform local or overseas operational relief duties or the duties of an Aircraft Engineer (if qualified) / Aircraft Mechanic as required in accordance with the relevant Job DescriptionHelp to monitor third party supplier’s performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc), follow up and rectify any operational issues in a timely mannerSupport the contingency plans and ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery, etc.Perform servicing and maintenance for station ground equipment, vehicles and facilitiesSupport Cathay Quality Assurance, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department and / or third party audits, follow up and rectify the audit findings within the required timelines as directedPerform station administration and ensure station documentations / passes are up-to-date and validEnsure compliance with local Occupational Health & Safety standards and regulations / guidelinesEmbrace a continuous improvement culture through quality innovation, teamwork, lean processes to help drive operational efficiency, productivity and commercial improvementAttend station meetings as required to ensure regular engagement and effective communicationAny other reasonable task as requested including engaging in non-operational duties and projects

Academic Qualifications

A HKAR 66 B1/Cat A license or any license acceptable in HKAR-2 is preferredMinimum of 1 current aircraft type authorisation, preferably on the type operated by CX and level 3 trained for B1 license holder, or minimum 1 Cat A aircraft type authorisation for a Cat A license holder

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environmentGood operation knowledge of aircraft maintenance and ground handling activitiesGood communication skills

Additional Requirements

Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s licenseMust successfully pass all pre-screening clearances, including reference checks and pre-employment drug screen upon contingent job offerEligibility to obtain necessary credentials and clearances per local requirementsAbility to move equipment up to 50 lbs frequentlyComfortable working outdoors on the tarmac in all weather conditionsMust be willing and able to perform a variety of physical activities to complete inspection and repairs, including bending, crouching, stooping, and positioning self in overhead positionsMust be able to work a variety of shifts including days, weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime, as required based on operational needsMust be willing and able to travel within North America and overseas, if requiredMust have the right to live in work in CanadaBenefits
