Job Overview The incumbent ensures a safe, efficient, and effective airfield environment for aircraft operations. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Oversees critical response recovery operations. Coordinate with the EOC on emergencies or contingency operations that affect airfield operations. Comply with the contingency plan for disaster or potential disaster situations. Maintain at a very high state of readiness at all times and presents a neat and orderly appearance. Adhere to directives DoD, AF Instruction (AFI), AF Manual (AFMAN), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), United States AF (USAF), AETC, Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and local developed regulations mandating requirements for military and civilian airfield operations. Periodically accommodate priority airfield operations by opening the airfield early and/or closing the airfield late. Provide airfield tours and familiarization training to wing and group commanders. Ensure the minimum daily inspections and checks of MAX-GUN AFB as well as a joint annual airfield inspection of MAX-GUN AFB, IAW AFMAN 13-204, Volume 1 and AFMAN 13- 204, Volume 2 and applicable amendments and supplements. Provide timely and effective coordination with airfield support agencies such as CE, safety (SE), maintenance, transportation, command and control, air traffic control, and emergency response agencies to support aircraft operations and correct deficiencies on the airfield. Provide input, guidance, and solutions at meetings concerning airfield facilities, air operations, and airfield construction projects. Advise the AOF/CC on airfield conditions and deficiencies which impact, or potentially impact, flying operations. Attend meetings discussing activities affecting the airfield and the status of open issues. Coordinate directly with airfield support agencies for airfield infrastructure and facility requirements to support aircraft operations. Participate with other base agencies to ensure an accurate airfield waiver program, to include construction waivers are maintained. Review, coordinate, and maintain aircraft parking plans for compliance with planning and design criteria. Ensure the airfield is inspected daily for discrepancies, hazards, safety, and compliance with established airfield planning and design criteria and report to appropriate agencies for correction. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: Seven (7) years of relevant work experience. Completion of the Advanced Airfield Manager Course. Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret Security clearance.   Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.  Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.  Valid Alabama state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.   Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.   U.S. Citizenship.   Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).     Shall be readily available within 15 minutes during normal business hours Monday – Friday.
