They are essential members of a forward-thinking team dedicated to the prompt and precise movement of goods. This role operates within a diverse and dynamic environment, where each day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth within our freight team. As a Freight Handling Agent, you will be actively involved across all facets of the Freight department. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday, with weekends available from 1600 to 2000 and possible extensions. Your activities Load and unload freight using forklifts, tugs, and other equipment while following OH&S guidelines. Utilize communication aids and freight warehousing systems for accurate documentation and processing of imports and exports. Ensure safe handling, transportation, and inspection of cargo for security and compliance. Work variable schedules based on airline timetables, including early mornings, late shifts, and weekends. Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient cargo operations. Adhere to Swissport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Opportunities for growth, varied shifts, and additional hours available. Your profile Preferably hold a current and valid forklift license. Preferred experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment. Possess a current and valid provisional or full state/territory driver’s license. Recent experience in a manual handling or physically demanding role in a fast-paced environment. Ability to repetitively lift up to 32kg and pass a pre-employment medical. Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OH&S guidelines. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with varied schedules. Experience with import/export processing is an advantage. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to work effectively within a team. Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail for accurate flight reporting and cargo tracking. Ability to follow strict operating procedures and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English. Must be 18 years or older.
