BMO Global Markets Engineering is in the early stages of transforming its electronic and quantitative trading platform. We are looking for builders who are passionate about high performance technology and are comfortable working in small, focused teams on high visibility projects. You will work on complex engineering and data problems in a close relationship with the trading desk. You will implement technology and analytics used for pricing and execution research as well as live automated trading. You will also contribute to the foundational frameworks and core applications.

Qualifications:

- Master's Degree in Financial Engineering, Computer Science or related areas.

- 2+ years developing software in C++ and python

- Experience working with tick data in the context of signal research and pricing algorithms

- Knowledge of Fixed Income Securities

- Solid understanding of fundamental software engineering principles

- Experience working with Linux

Nice to haves:

- Understanding of network fundamentals and distributed systems

- Experience building trading systems

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
