What You Will Do
Materials and Process Engineering (MPE) delivers advanced material solutions, manufacturing processes, analytical tools & methods and inspection technologies to enable system-level differentiation and increased customer value. MPE is comprised of materials technology leaders and experts who support the development, production and safe, reliable operation of commercial and military engines.
Directly supervise group managers, fellows, discipline chiefs, subject matter experts, and fellows.
Provide leadership to team for advanced materials development, including castings, powder nickel, cast wrought nickel, titanium aluminum & material modeling and for cost reduction and field/production support programs
Lead development of group specific improvement targets aligned with the enterprise goals and ensure horizontal alignment with all the stakeholders to meet objectives/milestones
Attracts, engage, develops & retain technical talent by coaching, encouraging, challenging and ensure that talent is being developed for next generation of subject matter experts and managers. Ensure CORE and EKS proficiency progression for group members
Manage group overhead budget and ensure programs/tasks are executed within budget & schedule
Collaborate with customers for alignment on roadmaps, programs, priority, & delivery. Take timely improvement actions on MFA, pulse & leadership surveys. Collaborate with other RTX divisions on technology roadmap & development
Sustain relationship with ONR, AFRL, industry partners and universities to seek new technology partnership and for strategic hiring of new engineers.
Qualifications You Must Have
A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Material Science and experience in Material Science is required.
Minimum 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with a minimum of 12 years experience
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder
Qualifications We Prefer
Requires advanced business knowledge, general management and leadership capability to lead business or functional teams.
Experience with materials development, characterization or manufacturing
Preferred experience with the IPD process

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
