The company's SaaS-based, leading edge technology platform has evolved in recent years to include a cloud-native strategic data management solution, Alpha Data Platform (ADP).

Following rapid adoption of Alpha Data Platform, by new and existing Charles River and State Street customers, CRD is seeking a specialist Data Management Sales Engineer to join the Sales Engineering team within EMEA sales, supporting ADP sales as a strategic initiative.

The Sales Engineers lead the pre-sales effort to educate prospects and existing clients in the use, features, and benefits of the solution.  A core component is software demonstration and enthusiastic product presentation.  Additionally, they work closely with the outside sales representatives to ensure all product, workflow, and best practice questions and objections are thoroughly addressed.

CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management, asset owners and alternative managers. Together we have created the first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019 and combines Charles River software and State Street service capabilities and expertise, working with some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated investment managers.

What you will be responsible for:

As an ADP Sales Engineer you will be involved in a variety of activities, typically as follows:

50% Preparation and detailed product presentation and demonstration to highly sophisticated investment professionals20% Follow up with prospects to close out any unanswered questions or objections10% Represent CRD at conferences and trade show exhibits10% Coordinate or assist in general prospect visits or product test pilot projects10% Assist with RFP or request for information (RFI) preparation

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience of demonstrating software solutions within the Enterprise Data Management and Data Warehouse segments.

Knowledge and experience of the following areas gained either through software solution vendors, buy-side investment managers, or consultancy:

Investment Management data requirements across public and private markets including security master reference data, pricing, analytics, positions/holdings, corporate actions, index/benchmark data, fund/account information.Knowledge and experience of the challenges in investment management relating to data strategy and data management, security mastering, gold copy creation, overrides, exception management and downstream data distribution.Enterprise Data ManagementData Warehousing concepts and application.Integration requirements for data management and data warehouse solutions within investment management.Awareness of typical technical landscape within a modern Data Warehouse and Data Management infrastructure, in particular Snowflake, SQL, ETL tools, and machine learning models.Knowledge of data vendors such as Bloomberg, Refinitv, Factset, etc., index and ESG data providers.Hands on experience with at least one of the following systems – Markit EDM (Cadis), NeoXam Data Hub, AIM Gain (Simcorp), Golden Source, Eagle Pace, Asset Control, Finbourne, Arcesium, Matrix (Rimes).

Proven written and verbal communication skills including:

Ability to provide succinct and accurate responses to questions within the Data Management segment.Written responses to RFP and RFI questions.Presentations to investment management business usersAd-Hoc written and verbal responses to questions raised by investment management business users.Proven problem solving skills.Knowledge and awareness of the technology considerations relating to data management solutions.Awareness of the EDM and Data Warehouse solutions currently being used within the Investment Management industry.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of experience working within a pre-sales or similar rolePrior industry experience with enterprise data management, either with software platforms, service providers or in consultancyStrong understand of investment data management processes and requirementsUnderstanding of key data topics and trends, including private markets, ESG, analytics, artificial intelligence, reporting and general data technology providers, such as SnowflakeGood understanding of financial investment products across asset classes and workflowsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, ability to gather and understand requirements in the financial sectorProven organizational skills with attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFlexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours and travel as requiredDemonstrated planning and scheduling skillsAbility to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and deal with the inevitable surprises that are part of a dynamic environment
