**Job Summary**
The Office of Alumni Relations seeks an energetic and outgoing self-starter to support the work being done to engage alumni through the chapters program. This position will report to the Director, Alumni Engagement. The successful candidate will be a strong self-starter and organizer with a passion for working closely with volunteers in alumni chapters both locally and worldwide, and executing event logistics. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of the mission and vision of the Office of Alumni Relations, University Advancement, and the University of Utah. This position will play a key role in the strategic execution of the alumni engagement plan for the Office of Alumni Relations and will work closely with volunteers, alumni, and campus partners to execute this plan.
**Responsibilities**
+ Under the direction of the Director, manages, strengthens, and oversees the daily operations of alumni chapters. Including, but not limited to:
+ Building relationships with alumni and enhancing the visibility of the Office of Alumni Relations.
+ Conducting individual meetings with alumni and constituents, recruiting new volunteers, and training chapter leaders on the duties of their roles.
+ Act as the primary contact for volunteers hosting events; planning and assisting chapter volunteers in executing alumni events in chapter areas.
+ Execute engagement strategies to help chapters further the mission of the University of Utah.
+ Promote service opportunities, mentoring, and affinity to the University through work with chapter volunteers.
+ Oversee the Alumni Day of Service, Chapter Watch Parties, and other chapter roles.
+ Plans, develops, and manages specific programs/events for the Alumni Chapters team centered on public relations and development activities, in addition to events hosted by the alumni chapters.
+ Assists in the identification and cultivation of volunteers to the University of Utah through meeting efforts, event attendance, and strategic engagement.
+ Collaborates with the Alumni Events Manager, Alumni Chapters Manager, and Alumni Chapters Intern on events, engagement strategy, and other activities within Alumni Relations.
+ Under the direction of the Director, assists with the design and implementation of new ideas and programs.
+ Track the success of initiatives and help maintain the integrity and accuracy of the University’s alumni database and Alumni Engagement Scoring metrics.
+ Consistently benchmarks progress on assigned programs by reviewing the work of peer institutions, and CASE best practices.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required. Experience which includes fundraising, grant and publication writing, planning and implementing special events and programs and a successful track record in raising donations is preferred.
**Preferences**
This position requires regular travel as well as time outside of regular office hours. Nights, weekends, and other times are required as needed.
