Blackstone Alumni Relations Specialist Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a Blackstone Alumni Relations Specialist to join us in our Scottsdale, AZ office. As the Blackstone Alumni Relations Specialist, you are a vital part of the Blackstone Team. In this role, you will report to the Senior Counsel, Director of Blackstone Alumni Relations, and are responsible for managing and activating the Blackstone Alumni Chapters, called City Chapters, ensuring effective communication and engagement with alumni, reporting on events and programs, and fostering a strong network within the legal community. Your Essential Responsibilities: In this position, you will: Execute and develop the Blackstone Alumni Chapters program, called City Chapters. + Activate City Chapters to hit yearly goals and KPIs, increase activity, etc., and execute upon approval from the Alumni Director + Assist and inform the Alumni Director on where to add new City Chapters to make the most impact, build community in the Fellowship, and execute upon approval from the Alumni Director + Work with City Chapter leaders to execute their activities and initiatives, including helping brainstorm ideas and planning parts of the events as needed (e.g., Salon dinners, speaker events, etc.) + Work in conjunction with the Alumni Director to select City Captains each year + Onboard new City Captains each January, providing them with resources to be successful in their roles + Act as the primary point of contact for alumni inquiries, providing timely and professional responses to their needs and requests and pulling in various members of the Blackstone team as needed + Follow up with leaders after the events to get stories and details to report on the events + Provide timely reports on activity and alumni interactions + Work with the Blackstone Alumni Coordinator for logistical help and to obtain the alumni lists and other necessary details + Subject to travel ability, help host City Captains at Blackstone Phase I including a dinner for City Captains Communicate Regularly with the City Chapter leaders, called City Captains: + Plan and host online Quarterly Business Meetings for the City Captains + Have monthly touchpoints with City Captains for personal and professional insights + Draft and send a monthly newsletter to the City Captains Provide networking opportunities for Blackstone Fellows to connect with each other and ADF: + Manage and execute introductions for Fellows and Interns (i.e., Fellows moving to new cities, Fellows summering in a city, Interns working in a city for the summer, etc.) + Collaborate with the Blackstone Legal Fellowship Professional Development Team to identify and connect alumni with job and mentorship opportunities, leveraging the network's resources + Ensure accurate alumni data and records are present by working with Blackstone Data Specialist Report on alumni activity and track alumni involvement. + Create monthly reports on City Chapter activity + Disseminate alumni stories to the team as needed + Work closely with the Blackstone Legal Fellowship Alumni Director to develop and execute initiatives, supporting the program's sustainability and growth by developing and implementing strategies to enhance alumni involvement with the Blackstone Fellowship program. + Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders within the organization to leverage resources and support the overall goals of the Blackstone Legal Fellowship program. Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential): + You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned. Skills you need to succeed: Demonstrated proficiency in: + Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills + Strong organizational and attention to detail skills + Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with SharePoint and Salesforce is preferred + Strong initiative and self-motivation Ability to: + Professionally handle confidential information + Perform specialized duties that often require independent judgment, including organizing and prioritizing tasks + Work effectively in a team setting or work independently when needed + Interact with team members across a variety of vocations and successfully build professional relationships + Travel approximately 30 days a year Education and/or experience: + Bachelor’s degree is preferred + 3+ years of professional experience in a member services role To complete your application, please attach a cover letter to your application.
