The advancement in research on Alzheimer’s disease (AD) signifies one of the most promising breakthroughs at Lilly and within the pharmaceutical sector. AD ranks as a major cause of mortality in the Nordics, with no existing cure or preventive treatments available.

With over three decades of continuous research and development efforts in AD, spanning therapeutics and diagnostics, Lilly is poised to introduce a novel therapy into the market soon.

The Swedish ecosystem presents a challenging yet high potential environment for the introduction of early-stage AD treatments. As an integral part of our team, the Alzheimer’s Ecosystem Manager (AEM) will play a pivotal role in ensuring patient access to our AD treatments. The AEM will do this by identifying and mitigating system barriers and communicating the benefits our treatments offer to local health systems. This role involves fostering partnerships with healthcare organizations to navigate through challenges and deliver innovative solutions, all while adhering to the LIF code of conduct. The ideal candidate will be adaptable to dynamic conditions and dedicated to advancing our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Navigating the AD Ecosystem Pathways:

Map diagnostic and treatment landscape in Sweden, pinpointing opportunities for enhancing patient care or offering advantages to the healthcare system. This includes understanding referral pathways and identifying constraints. With the support of the cross functional team establish and implement partnerships/collaborations with key healthcare players that correspond with our branding and therapeutic knowledgeResponsible for forming local alliances to further shape the environment.

Securing Market Access and Funding:

Acquire comprehensive knowledge about the funding mechanisms, inclusion in drug formularies, and decision-making processes across significant regions in Sweden.Build and maintain strong partnerships with key national and regional stakeholders and develop mutually beneficial relationships to ensure Lilly is seen as a key partner in the AD area.Develop a deep understanding of brand payer value propositions and the “toolkit” of Lilly resources. Confidently position with key customers, tailor the value proposition to payer needs and suggest appropriate potential partnership programmes to add value.

Gathering Insights and strategic intelligence:

Use business information to identify variance in local account performance and collaborate on tactical plans to maximise performance.Maintain a deep understanding of key accounts: revenue sources, key customers, service structure & deliverables, competitors, financial goals, commissioning process, financial flows (as available from public sources), and objectives.Identify relevant opportunities to engage other functions within the account to drive increased value (medical, health outcomes, partnership projects).Bring the outside in by providing clear and concise market access environmental understanding into the business unit that may be relevant to the brand/therapeutic area. Work closely with multichannel engagement team sharing insights and identify how digital communication can be developed to aid payers and enhance patient access.

Essential skills and expertise required include:

Proven leadership skills with the capacity to engage a broad range of stakeholders, including medical and payer key opinion leaders.Comprehensive knowledge of regional policies, trends, healthcare funding, and budgeting principles. Strong business acumen with skills in forecasting and business case handling for key account project plans or initiatives.Capability to orchestrate Account Planning & Review sessions, prioritizing effectively and aligning with overall brand strategies.The ability to document and relay shifts in the environment utilizing established knowledge management practices.Knowledge of pharmaco-economic principles and the application of health economic tools.Understanding of the LIF Code of Practice and what activities are permissible in a pre- and post-license settings.Agility and ease in working with ambiguity and adapt to evolving strategic priorities.Fluent (native speaker) in written and spoken Swedish.

Preferred qualifications:

Prior experience in Market Access, Key Account Management, or SalesProject Management skillsPast experience with Neuroscience and Dementia
