Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking anAmbulatory Cardiac Technician to join ourCardiacteam!

The Ambulatory Cardiac Technician provides and assists in the quality diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients of all ages, under medical supervision.

HOURS: Full-time or .8 FTE; 64 hours bi-weekly; Varied Shifts

Experience/Qualifications:

Performs direct patient care to patients of all ages, including doing patient ADLs as directed by the LPN or RN.Responds and actively participates in emergency situations, i.e., cardiac arrest, fire, disaster, etc.Observes and reports patient changes, including suggestions to meet individual patient needs, to RN or LPN.Documents patient care/activities according to guidelines.Performs all items on EKG monitor skills checklist.Performs receptionist and unit clerk duties as requested.Performs safety checks on unit equipment according to guidelines and maintains corresponding logs.Inputs accurate patient information into the information system.Organizes and maintains the patient’s active medical record.Maintains current patient log.Maintains a neat and orderly nurse’s station.Performs other tasks such as transporting patients with wheelchairs and carts, stocking shelves, obtaining supplies and interdepartmental deliveries to SPD, Laundry, etc.Knowledge of patient care standards and practices in a health care setting normally acquired through completion of an approved cardiovascular technician program or related field.MA, EMT, CNA, or other healthcare related experience beneficial. Six months of cardiovascular experience beneficial.

Required

Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.
