Ambulatory Customer Service Educator | FPS Administrative | Days
Overview The Ambulatory Customer Service Educator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining non-clinical education programs for UF Health St Johns Ambulatory employees. This individual will also be responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties in alignment with the education and customer service components of the position. This position delivers educational trainings using a variety of mediums while assessing employee training needs and performing ongoing evaluation of implemented programs. They will be responsible for developing programs that reinforce the team's requirement to deliver exemplary customer service by greeting and assisting patients andvisitors, answering high volume phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, and overseeing other daily operations of front desk in a medical office. Responsibilities Develops, implements, and maintains non-clinical education programs for UF Health St Johns Ambulatory employees, both new/onboarding and established to foster an environment of continual learning and development. This will including ensuring successful onboarding of team members, the timely dissemination of information to all team members serving as a primary resource person for UF Health St Johns Ambulatory employees with regards to education and training programs. This would include insurance related knowledge and skills. Plans and conducts orientation of new customer service personnel that facilitates a new team member's transition to the work environment and meets competency assessment requirements in conformance with departmental objectives and accreditation standards. Includes but is not limited to educational programs and computer-based learning modules. Assesses learning needs through formal and informal approaches to data collection to determine specific education needs and utilizes teaching techniques that promote critical thinking and evidence-based practice incorporating principles of adult learning theory. Actively mentors and supports colleagues and staff. Supports and encourages the professional development of the clinical staff and collaborates within and across the organization to identify internal and external resources available for staff. Ensures team members consistently and accurately performs their duties including, but not limited to, accurately and completely registering patients, accurately schedules patient, ensures timely collection of balances, copays, coinsurances, deductibles, surgical required payments, etc. Fulfills customer service responsibilities including scheduling and patient flow, assisting patients with appointments, collecting payments and balances, etc, when needed. Assists in maintaining liaisons with other organizations and offices for the exchange of information. Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required. Five years of Medical Practice clerical experience or seven years in a health care role delivering customer service required.
