Penn Ob / gyn Washington Square offers personalized and integrated care for women at 3 practices within Penn medicine Washington Square. The team of board-certified providers focuses on prevention and general wellness to help women achieve a healthy lifestyle. Penn Medicine's programs and centers combine doctors from many disciplines to coordinate care from start to finish. This experienced RN will work with the General Gynecology and Family Planning Divisions. They must be capable of projecting empathy, professionalism, and a positive image of UPHS through excellent communication and customer service skills. They will support patients and families, facility personnel, and UPHS processes to ensure an excellent experience. This Penn Family Planning clinical practice provides medical services including management of early pregnancy loss, pregnancy options counseling, provision of medication induced and surgical abortion, sterilization counseling and scheduling, contraceptive management, and limited general gynecologic care. This full-time position is primarily triage with some clinical nursing, and potential for partial remote work. The family planning nurse assists the provider with procedures, counsels and recovers patients, and dispenses medications. They also implement care coordination, results management, and triage via telephone. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills, and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infant to puberty. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague demonstrates within the competency domains of Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice and Research, Leadership, Person and Family-Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Technology/Informatics, and Teamwork (Definitions listed below). The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague works closely with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. The nurse focuses on expanding the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of assigned patients.
