We are a leader in the Trauma-Informed Care Movement, and provide training, coaching and consulting to outside organizations. **Job Description** The Ambulatory Services Clerk functions as an integral part of the health care team as a primary contact for patients, visitors, and staff. Serves as the primary clerk, consistently striving to exceed customer expectations by being prepared for patients and preparing the medical record for their visits within the ambulatory setting. The clerk supports the staff and physicians by coordinating the process of care to the patient through every aspect of their visits and services at the Medical Center. The Ambulatory Services Clerk is the first and last impression our customers encounter and is therefore considered a Customer Service Ambassador. **Minimum Requirements** + High School diploma or equivalent + Must have at least one year of experience in clerical or administrative capacity of health care or customer service setting. + Must possess computer and keyboarding skills + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills + Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate and convey information in a professional and clear manner + Ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with customers and staff + Ability to listen effectively and respond accordingly + Ability to take direction and follow instruction yet be self-motivated and able to work independently + Uses sound judgment when approaching problems, takes initiative in solving problems, and pays attention to detail + Can process and integrate a variety of information (some of which may be ambiguous, complex, and contradictory) from multiple sources + Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks + Uses proper business English (including spelling, punctuation, capitalization, grammar, and word usage) + Considerable ability to be tactful and courteous, to provide superior customer service and present a professional presence and demeanor at all times. **Working at University Health is about making a difference.
