Mercy Health LifeFlight Network is a Critical Care transport network serving Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan since 1979.  We operate two helicopters and three mobile intensive care units.  We work closely with our health system and outside partners to transport the critically sick and injured of all age groups to definitive care.  We also work with our Medical Transportation division to provide transport to ALS and BLS patients. 

SUMMARY:

Ambulette attendant will provide direct movement and transportation of wheelchair clients between locations. Ambulette attendant will operate an ambulette vehicle in a safe and efficient manner. Ambulette attendant will operate a wheelchair lift and/or manually push a wheelchair in the movement of a client into and out of the vehicle.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Transport clients by wheelchair to and from appointments

Transport clients by wheelchair for hospital discharge

Maintain proper reports and records

Provides proper care, safe, and efficient transport

Care for vehicle and equipment

Serve as a patient advocate

Performs other duties as assigned

Practices Mercy Core Values

Participate/attend required/mandatory trainings.

Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights

QUALIFICIATIONS:

Required:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licensure/Certification: Valid Driver’s License

1-3 Years of experience

Preferred:

AHA Healthcare provider BLS (or gained within 30 days of hire)

1st Aid Training (or completed within 30 days of hire)

IS  100, IS 700

DRIVE Training (or completed within 60 days of hire)

* Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) required to be completed within 1 year of hire
