The ideal candidate will be capable of teaching a variety of courses in American government and politics, including Campaigns and Elections, Parties and Interest Groups, Congress, the Executive Research Methods, and introductory courses. Additionally, the candidate should have expertise in Public Law, with the ability to teach courses such as Judicial Process and Constitutional Law.

This position comes with a teaching load of 4-4, which may include online or hybrid courses. The faculty member may need to assist with pre-law advising and may be provided with a course release to accommodate this additional service responsibility. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Political Science. Expertise in Public Law, with the ability to teach courses such as Judicial Process and Constitutional Law. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Political Science. About the Department The School of Politics, Society, Justice, and Public Service (SPSJPS) has four units: Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, and Social Work. Units in the School teach undergraduate programs in International Relations, Political Science, Pre-Law, Public and Nonprofit Administration, Sociology, Social and Criminal Justice, Social Work, and Youth Studies. Additionally, the School offers a Master of Public Administration degree at the graduate level.
