Responsible for performing general labor as part of a team that is responsible for track projects including construction, maintenance, inspections, and service.Job Title: Railroad Track LaborerPosition Overview:We are seeking a Railroad Track Laborer to perform essential tasks in the maintenance, repair, and construction of railroad tracks. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments. You will handle a variety of tasks and tools essential for ensuring the reliability and safety of railroad operations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Drive spikes into ties using manual or powered tools.Move and set cross ties and lengths of steel rail.Shovel stone and maintain ballast alignment.Adjust and lubricate switches to ensure proper operation.Tighten track bolts and check track gauge and cross-level.Carry and use track jacks (approximately 40 lbs.) for maintenance work.Follow company policies on safety and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications:To perform this role successfully, candidates must meet the following qualifications.
