Responsible for performing general labor as part of a team that is responsible for track projects including construction, maintenance, inspections, and service.AMERITRACK RAILPosition: Track Laborer-Kansas Job OverviewThe Track Laborer is responsible for performing general labor duties as part of a team focused on track projects, including construction, maintenance, inspections, and service. This position involves hands-on work to ensure the proper functioning and safety of railroad track systems.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDrive spikes into the track structure.Move and set cross ties and lengths of steel rail.Shovel and distribute stone ballast as needed.Adjust and lubricate switches.Tighten track bolts to maintain proper track integrity.Check track gauge and cross level to ensure safety and compliance.Carry track jacks (approximately 40 lbs.) for track adjustments.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily.
