AML Compliance Associate

MediCard is currently looking for assertive, dynamic and energetic individuals to fill up the following vacancy:

To support the organization’s efforts in detecting, preventing, and mitigating money laundering and other financial crimes by ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct comprehensive Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for new and existing high-risk clients, ensuring proper Know Your Customer (KYC) & Know Your Business (KYB) documentations are obtained and validated.
• Investigate flagged transactions using internal tools and external sources, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of alerts.
• Liaise with internal departments to address AML-related issues and enforce compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Perform ongoing monitoring and periodic reviews of high-risk customers, maintaining compliance with both regulatory and internal guidelines.
• Stay updated on global AML regulations, financial crime trends, and compliance best practices to keep the compliance program robust and current.
• Maintain organized, complete, and up-to-date records of customer files, investigations, and reports, in accordance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Assist in internal AML audits, helping to identify gaps and recommend improvements to existing procedures.
• Perform other compliance-related duties and projects as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum education / qualification / certification required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant experience required: 1–3 years of experience in AML compliance, financial crime investigation, or a related area within the financial services sector. With AML-related certifications is a plus.
• Technical skills:
o Knowledge of AML laws, regulatory expectations, and best practices.
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AML/compliance tools.
• Business skills:
o Strong analytical and investigative skills.
o High attention to detail and organization.
o Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
