SUMMARY

Under direction of the Boiler/Refrigeration/Building Maintenance Manager, this position repairs and maintains ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and CFC refrigeration systems.
THIS IS AN INTERVIEW POSITION. A TARGETED SELECTION INTERVIEW WILL BE CONDUCTED FOR ALL QUALIFIED BIDDERS BEGINNING WITH TEAM MEMBERS WITH RELEVANT PRIOR EXPERIENCE.

Daily operation/maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems Daily operation/maintenance of boilers, pumps, and water feed systems Daily operation/maintenance of CFC refrigeration and A/C systems Daily testing and treating of boiler and cooling water systems Daily operation/maintenance of compressed air systems Daily operation/maintenance of vacuum pumps/systems Ability to read and follow system drawings, manuals, and P & ID drawings Ability to understand/comply with Process Safety Management guidelines Building maintenanceQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of 3 years in operation and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, and CFC (Freon) refrigeration systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
TRAINING
Upon completion of interviews and selection for the job, the candidate will be required to complete extensive training on the ammonia system before full certification. Length of training will be contingent on experience and progress of the candidate. At the end of the training period the candidate must successfully pass a certification test to be fully certified for ammonia system operation as required under OSHA’s Process Safety Management Program.
