Summary THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This ND National Guard position is for a AMMUNITION INSPECTOR, Position Description Number D2281000 and is part of the ND USPFO, National Guard. Responsibilities AMMUNITION INSPECTOR - This position is located in the United States Property & Fiscal Office (USPFO) Supply & Services Division, Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the handling, storage, examining, transporting, and identifying of ammunition and explosives to detect defects, serviceability, deterioration, and compliance with all ammunition and explosives regulations, acceptable standards, specifications, or contractual requirements, as well as policy and procedures. Conducts pre-issue inspection of ammunition items prior to issue. Inspects ammunition, performs maintenance, care, preservation, shipping and storage operations, assuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, drawings, etc. during operations. Responsible for the requirements of all ammunition management documentation. Assists in the National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) resupply and excess management process as required. General knowledge of ammunition processes, regulations, and inspection requirements. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess experience or training which 1) demonstrates the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with the type of work to be done, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions; and 2) experience which demonstrates the knowledge of and the ability to apply safety standards. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess the 18 months of experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of 1) various codes of federal regulations (i.e., Department of Transportation and Occupational Safety and Health Association); 2) Ability to respond to unforeseen or emergency situations and be able to make immediate responses to emergency situations, determine the correct course of action to mitigate the problem; 3) knowledge of ammunition/explosives technical references, procedures and policies, materials handling equipment, and lifting gear, rail, and truck characteristics/capabilities; and 4) Ability to interpret and apply load drawings technical inspections procedures, publications, specifications, and technical drawings pertaining to ammunition/explosives. You must also possess the experience, training or education to support your claim for the competency statements listed within the assessment questionnaire. Education To receive credit for education, you must provide supporting documentation of proof that you meet the education requirements for this position.
