Ammunition Manager/Logistics Analyst

HOW A LOGISTICS ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Supports customer ammunition/logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities
● Expected to provide recommendations to resolve virtually all problems, which arise on own initiative. Controversial issues, matters with far reaching implications and major impact on policy or theater readiness are discussed with the 1st TSC, USARCENT and USCENTCOM to reach jointly acceptable positions.
● Responsible for supporting DMC/Ammo in the planning, integrating and coordinating of theater-wide ammunition supply, maintenance and demilitarization programs, overall theater surveillance and stockpile reliability programs, and Class V automation integration and asset reporting for the theater, to include acquiring and monitoring program funds and assets.
● Provide supply, inventory and stockpile management for all U.S. Army ammunition stocks in USCENTCOM to include storage levels, establishing and setting theater stockage objectives, training ammunition supply support, central requisitioning, force modernization, asset stratification, asset movement, disposition, re-distribution, retrograde, call forward, foreign military sales, maintenance, demilitarization, and disposal instructions.
● Provide management and asset visibility through the use of all specified ammunition management automation sites and systems to include but not limited to, Standard Army Ammunition System (SAAS), Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS), Munitions History Program (MHP), National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC), and the 1st TSC MCP/OCP SharePoint and Share drives.
● Identify shortages and recommend resupply actions, monitor on hand stocks for theater war reserves, operational and training ammunition, and keep accountability and visibility of all munitions within US CENTCOM.
● Track the shipments of ammunition by air, ground, and by sea vessel within the theater. Provide Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft PowerPoint slides that show ammunition stock levels. Perform as a troubleshooter for issues involving Class V schedule shipments by air, ground, and sea vessel within theater. Provide analysis of ammunition pallet shortages by destination.
● Update and brief orders. Preparation of PowerPoint presentations/briefings.
Provide ammunition reports from all specified ammunition management automation sites and systems SAAS, and provide statistical analysis, on slides or spreadsheets
● Assist ammunition managers and SAAS operators with SAAS operations support when requested
● Possess knowledge to plan, organize, and direct studies to develop long range plans and forecasts. The analyses are based on doctrinal regulation, USARCENT published guidance, and historical trends. The longest term used for these analyses would be to set Quarterly Stock Objectives. At the most this would be 30 days prior to the stockage levels being applied. Employees would be utilized to provide data analyses for military planning based on green suit guidance.
● Assist in analyzing missions and resource tasking requirements in conjunction with higher level guidance, regarding operations to develop, adapt, modify, coordinate and implement OPLANS, fragmentation orders (FRAGOS) and related planning documents.
● Receive, evaluate, and approve/disapprove Ammunition Basic Load (ABL) requests after analyzing the unit’s authorizations. Track ABL request status and provide status to the DMC OIC and NCOIC at both MCP and OCP levels to include USCENTCOM J4 and USARCENT G4 munitions sections
● Serve as subject matter expert in ammunition operations and contingency planning.
● Assist in the development of logistical doctrine, Tactics and Procedures (TTPs); and attend munitions related meetings, briefing events, working groups, and conferences.
● Analyze and resolve problems in nonstandard and standard ammunition management to develop, publish and implement regulatory and procedural guidance.
● Conduct a monthly audit of the Arifjan ASP/TSA ammunition SRA transactions & advise the USG of current stockage levels, ensure stockage levels remain at specified stockage objective, provide a report of findings and guidance on analysis conducted
● Knowledge of a wide range of ammunition allocation concepts, principles, and practices of a professional or administrative nature, such as would be gained through extended hands on experience, and skill on allocation of resources in difficult and complex work assignments.
● Study, analyze, and develop methods to improve on the forecasting and reporting procedures for standard and nonstandard ammunition through the use of automation systems such as SAAS, TAMIS, NLAC, and MHP.
● Contacts are with ammunition managers at individual units, installations HQDA, JMC, USASOC, FORSCOM, USMC, and other MACOMs. The purpose is to resolve ammunition supply problems, insufficient authorizations, redistribution of allocations, and suspended ammunition items. Discuss ammunition issues consistent with HQDA, JMC, USASOC, and FORSCOM policies. Contacts are for the purpose of planning, recommending, coordinating and reporting ammunition requirements.
● Duties will be performed in accordance with AR 190-11 (PHYSICAL SECURITY OF ARMS, AMMUNITION, AND EXPLOSIVES), AR 710-1 (CENTRALIZED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OF THE ARMY SUPPLY SYSTEM), AR 710-2 (SUPPLY POLICY BELOW THE NATIONAL LEVEL), AR 735-5 (PROPERTY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ACCOUNTABILITY), DA PAM 710-2-2 (SUPPLY SUPPORT ACTIVITY SUPPLY SYSTEM: MANUAL PROCEDURES), DA PAM 700-16 (THE ARMY AMMUNITION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM), DA PAM 385-64 (AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES SAFETY STANDARDS), ATP 4-35.1 (AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES HANDLER SAFETY TECHIQUES), FM 4-30., and Munitions Branch guidance.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● 5 years of Theater/Operational level Conventional Ammunition Management experience, to include the distribution and accountability of ammunitions.
● 10 years of technical experience with ammunition management and theater distribution.
● Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
● Proficient in SAAS Operations, procedures and practices, to include maintenance of SAAS connectivity, processing of Daily Cycles and Reports, support of normal inventory operations, and proper accountability of stocks.
● Ability to communicate effectively to senior level leaders.
● Knowledge on the Total Ammunition Management Information System and Munitions History Program (MHP), National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC), and understanding of the associated programming, funding, manufacturing, distribution and storage systems to project, monitor and resolve problems with ammunition resources.
● Must be able to meet CENTCOM medical and deployment requirements for OCONUS.
● Must have a current DoD SECRET.

The likely salary range for this position is $57,866 - $75,634. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location.
