Engineering Manager - AMR

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.The work model for the role is: #LI - HybridThis role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Robotics division in Auburn Hills, MI. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tCollaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.•\tCoaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.•\tLeading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.•\tApplying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.Our team dynamicsYou will join a {insert adjectives – e.g. dynamic, talented, high performing} team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering for Automation, or Robotics solutions development.Willing to Travel up to 10%Strong experience with 3D Modeling software: e.g. SolidWorksExperience with 2D layout software such as AutoCAD MechanicalExperience with PLM SoftwareExperience working with customer supplied CAD data and requirementsExperience with Design for Manufacturing principles, and working with suppliers to manufacture designed components ensuring quality and adherence to predefined specificationsSpanish Language proficiency is a plusCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
