Vulnerability Scanning and Tool Administration:
Execute regular vulnerability scans across the organization’s infrastructure using industry-standard tools. - TENABLEMonitor and manage the vulnerability scanning tools, ensuring they are configured correctly and functioning properly.Troubleshoot any issues related to scan execution, resolving errors to maintain accurate and complete scan results. Scan Results Management:
Collect, organize, and maintain scan data, ensuring that results are accurately documented and accessible for analysis.Assist in the initial review of scan results, identifying any potential false positives or anomalies.Work closely with the senior vulnerability management team to ensure that scan results are processed and actioned promptly. Tool Maintenance and Updates:
Perform regular updates and maintenance of vulnerability management tools to ensure they are up-to-date with the latest security definitions and capabilities.Monitor tool performance, reporting any issues to the senior team and assisting with necessary upgrades or patches. Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with the senior vulnerability management analyst to support ongoing remediation efforts, providing scan data and insights as needed.Assist in the development and refinement of scanning schedules and methodologies to optimize coverage and accuracy.Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving the vulnerability management process. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all scan activities, including schedules, configurations, and results.Prepare basic reports on scan activities and tool performance for review by the senior vulnerability management analyst and other stakeholders.#LI-SA1
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Must Have Skills
Basic Knowledge of Vulnerability Management (1+ years): Familiarity with the basics of vulnerability management processes and tools, gained through coursework, internships, or practical experience. TENABLE
Experience with VM Tools (1+ years): Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or TENABLE , including launching and monitoring scans.
Attention to Detail (1+ years): Strong attention to detail in monitoring scan execution and ensuring the accuracy of results.
Basic Troubleshooting Skills (1+ years): Ability to identify and resolve basic issues with tool operation and scan execution.
Eagerness to Learn (1+ years): A demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and a willingness to learn and grow within the field of vulnerability management.
Nice to Have (Please indicate no more than 5 skills. If candidates do not have these skills would not be a reason for disqualifying. Be as concrete as possible.)
IT or Cybersecurity Certifications (1+ years): Any entry-level certifications, such as CompTIA Security+ or CEH, that demonstrate foundational knowledge in cybersecurity.Experience in IT Support (1+ years): Previous experience in an IT support role, particularly related to systems or network administration.Scripting Skills (1+ years): Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) that could be used to automate scanning tasks.Understanding of Network Protocols (1+ years): Basic understanding of network protocols and how they relate to vulnerability management.Experience with Reporting Tools (1+ years): Familiarity with tools used to generate and format reports for cybersecurity activities.#LI-SA1
