The Product Verification department at GTC is a team of 12 skilled solid mechanics working in different multidisciplinary project teams dedicated to the design and development of future product solutions for commercial engines, and we are now looking for an Analysis Leader to help us in our task of reaching the goal of sustainable aeroengines. As an Analysis Leader you will play a key role in the design of our aerospace components and contributes significantly to the development of methods and tools.
The role consists of two main components: one involves leading, planning and reviewing the work in your solid mechanics team, while the other involves performing advanced mechanical simulations yourself.
You have a big interest in and feel the responsibility for leading and developing a team and the team members. Also you are a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a keen interest in the aerospace industry and extensive expertise in ANSYS and Python. Capable of handling the team activities within complex structural mechanics and scripting challenges.

This is a full-time permanent position. The place of employment is at our main site in Trollhättan, Sweden and as such, the applicant should be able to gain the right to live and work in the country. Occasional travel is to be expected, both within and outside Sweden.
• Leading a Solid Mechanics team, responsible for the deliverables to the project.
• Assure proper documentation of technical results and present the results internally and externally.
• Work in multidisciplinary teams engaged in the design and development of jet engine structures including new technologies or features.
• Drive the Dimensioning and verification of engine components through FE analysis (strength, fatigue, fracture mechanics, dynamic analysis) using both commercial (ANSYS) and in-house developed tools.
• Ensure the continuous air worthiness of our certified products by analyzing field events and propose actions.
• Know how to develop and implement custom Python scripts and tools to enhance engineering processes.
• Drive the develop analysis methods.
• Contribute to the development of GKN as a 'Great Place to Work', aligned with the core principles - safe, innovative, open & honest, care & respect, and ownership.
• Master's Degree in Applied Mechanics: You hold a Master's degree in Applied Mechanics or a related field.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members towards common goals.
• ANSYS Proficiency: You have extensive experience with ANSYS software.
• Python Programming Skills: You are used to solve problems by Python programming, enabling you to automate processes, conduct data analysis, and develop custom solutions.
• Passion for Aerospace: You have a passion for the aerospace industry.
• Solid Mechanics and Material Science: Your knowledge in solid mechanics and material science is robust, allowing you to tackle challenges related to structural integrity, material properties, and component performance.
• Proficient in English.
Desirable qualification:
• Knowledge from manufacturing process, both conventional and additive manufacturing, is consider advantageous.
• Swedish is considered advantageous.
For this role you should have leadership as a strength, find big interest in creating plans and ability to inspire, motivate and guide team members. You have deep understanding of solid mechanics: structural analysis, fatigue, fracture mechanics, dynamic analysis of structures. Also you are a problem solver who feels energized when facing technical challenges.
