As an Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Analyst you will provide advice to various levels of CBC management and staff in responding to requests made under the ATIP Acts. This involves consulting, negotiating and resolving complex, sensitive ATIP requests including those that involve third parties, and other government institutions and agencies. This requires you to review records to determine their relevance to the request, to identify the parts of them that require severing, and to apply the correct sections of the ATIP Acts to them. The successful candidate will cultivate and maintain good relationships within all areas of the Corporation; prepare communications for applicants and third parties with respect to requests and disclosure decisions.
You possess:
A thorough knowledge of Access to Information and Privacy Acts and other related legislation, regulations and policies.
6 months to 3 years of relevant experience.
Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.
University degree or training in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong research and analytical skills and ability to apply those skills to deal with ATIP requests.
In-depth knowledge of various computer programs, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access ProCase Management, AccessPro Redaction, Internet, Intranet and electronic mail.
Diplomacy, tact and persuasion.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Planning and negotiation skills.
