Analyst, Business Continuity Disaster Recovery

Job Summary

This position will be focused on the governance and oversight of the Business Resiliency Program, which includes traditional business continuity lifecycle activities, operational and technology resilience, and disaster recovery.

Experience Required: 3 to 5 years of Business Resiliency/Continuity experience

Technical Skills:

* Strong Analytical & Problem-Solving Abilities: Identifying potential risks, analyzing their impact, and developing effective mitigation strategies is core to the role.

ServiceNow and XMatters Crisis Management software

* IT Knowledge: Understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, databases), data centers, and cloud technologies is crucial for assessing vulnerabilities and designing recovery plans.

* Project Management Skills: BCDR plans often involve multiple teams and complex projects. Strong project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation) are essential.

* Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyzing data from risk assessments, audits, and incident response exercises to identify trends and improve plans.

* Technical Writing & Documentation: Clearly and concisely documenting plans, procedures, and test results for easy reference and training.

Soft Skills:

* Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication (written and verbal) is vital for interacting with stakeholders, explaining complex technical concepts, and building relationships.

* Leadership & Influence: Guiding teams through crisis situations, influencing stakeholders to support BCDR initiatives, and motivating others to participate in drills and exercises.

* Decision-Making & Judgment: Making critical decisions under pressure during a crisis, often with limited information.

* Adaptability & Flexibility: Responding effectively to unexpected events and adjusting plans as needed.

* Stress Management & Resilience: Maintaining composure and focus during high-pressure situations.

* Teamwork & Collaboration: Working effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Other Valuable Qualities:

* Business Acumen: Understanding of business processes, dependencies, and the impact of disruptions on the organization's bottom line.

* Risk Management Expertise: Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and techniques.

* Industry Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, DRII certifications) can enhance credibility and demonstrate expertise.

Job Responsibilities

Lead IT Giant Eagle to collaborate with corporate level groups to modernize the existing IT Disaster Recovery framework for improvement based on the program’s multi-year strategic roadmap.Lead and execute risk management programs within Technology and Lines of Business to include Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to identify potential impacts on the performance of essential functions and the consequences of failure to sustain them.Guide involvement in the development of BCDR plans that direct the selection, development, and implementation of contingency actions with close collaboration with our business partnersImplement the Business Resiliency program, identifying opportunities for improvement and standardization that drives compliance for recovery solutions.Evolve Disaster Recovery Run Books to be actively maintained living documents with quality checks and testing compliance.Possess the experience and technical expertise to foster discovery of the most suitable recovery solutions, including DR Cloud strategies, with guidance/standards established from the enterprise architects.Build employee expertise knowledge and skills in the discipline of Business Continuity and mentor others.Observe and understand business operations to identify potential risks and work arounds and to establish stakeholder partnerships.
