Analyst, Business IT (Supporting R&D)

JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY: 

Work closely with the R&D department and the Color Lab to help them support with their IT needs The IT Business Analyst will provide process and system support to our internal Behr customers in various countries. This individual will work closely with Business Analysts in the US and India across functional areas and partner with the business to provide assistance to functional users and act as liaison between the business and technical teams.  This includes gathering business requirements, translating them into functional requirements, recommending and implementing solutions  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Confer with organizational personnel to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements.   Test systems to ensure compliance, coordinate testing by users and document, track, and communicate test plans, test results, analysis and unresolved problems.  Identify program variances from objectives and suggest modifications to conform or recommend program improvements or revisions to development team manager.  Identify, analyze, and document defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in system functions, outputs, online screens and content.  Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve production of workflow as required.  Prepare workflow charts and diagrams to specify in detail operations to be performed by equipment and computer programs and operations to be performed by personnel in system.  Contribute to establishment of standards and procedures for system design and testing and assist users and developers to isolate possible problems after implementation.  Identify, communicate critical exposures and risks for implementing projects and facilitate post-implementation reviews to prevent recurrence of operating problems and ensure efficiency of operation.    Perform needs analysis studies to determine technical training needs, develop curriculum, determine instructional methods and train end users and user support staff. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING: 

Educational attainment equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business or computer related discipline 3-5 years of experience in a business analyst role within a manufacturing and distribution environment 

KNOWLEDE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION: 

Sound knowledge on R&D operations and software’s uses in R&D of a paint Company.Strong Knowledge on Color department operations like formulations, formulation software (X-RITE) etc.Strong Analytical skills and very good Microsoft Excel skills.Ability to function within teams with diverse strengths, weaknesses, abilities, and attitudes Strong project management skills Thorough knowledge of information systems, technology, computer hardware and software and operating systems Thorough knowledge of end-user business processes, policies, procedures, personnel, protocol, problem solving processes and detailed technical systems General knowledge of SaaS platforms and their functions Ability to read, interpret, understand and apply cross-functional knowledge and to communicate effectively  Ability to develop and work according to structured plans
