Analyst, Capital Planning
**Job Description:** THE OPPORTUNITY The Analyst of Capital Planning will support Scholastic’s Capital Planning team by assisting with evaluating, analyzing, and tracking capital initiatives across the organization. Reporting to the Manager of Capital Planning, this role will focus on delivering data-driven insights and ensuring alignment with the company’s financial goals and strategic objectives. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and can work collaboratively across teams to support strategic decision-making. This role is an excellent opportunity for a finance or operations professional to contribute to high-impact projects while developing their skills in capital planning and corporate finance. RESPONSIBILITIES **Analysis and Reporting** + Assist in conducting detailed financial analysis, including ROI assessments, cost/benefit analyses, and opportunity cost modeling for capital projects and initiatives + Assist in preparing monthly reports for leadership, including updates for the Capital Planning Committee **Capital Expense Tracking** + Organize and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all capital projects, budgets, and forecasts + Maintain up-to-date consolidation of business case information to accurately feed Scholastic’s Long-Range Plan. + Track key takeaways and action items from quarterly project review meetings and email updates from each major and minor initiative’s project lead. Partner with project leads to drive action items to completion. **Business Case Support** + Collaborate with divisional finance teams and project managers to review and refine business cases for capital initiatives + Develop and maintain templates and tools to improve the efficiency and consistency of business case preparations. **Process Improvement** + Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve data accuracy, reporting timelines, and capital planning workflows + Support the implementation of new tools and systems for tracking and managing capital expenditures. **Cross-Functional Collaboration** + Partner with finance teams to collect inputs, resolve issues, and support project planning efforts. + Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data and trends. **About Scholastic** For more than 100 years, Scholastic Corporation (NASDAQ: SCHL) has been meeting children where they are – at school, at home and in their communities – by creating quality content and experiences, all beginning with literacy.
